Let’s take a look at this. What is it that the already married man represents to the single woman?
One. By getting married, a man has shown that he is someone that other women want. When it comes to a single guy, a woman has to go through the trial and errors of dating. He might be a really great guy but for the time being, he is an untested product. He might not make a good husband. But with the married man, someone else has already done the work. The one with the ring is certified “husband” material.
Two. If a woman wants to date a “nice guy” but does not want the pressure of the guy falling for her, a married man is preferred. To what extent and for how long the dating of a single guy continues depends on how long the relationship does not become serious. Once they become too close, the woman would then have to dump the guy, which usually turns out to be messy. Some guys might even be stalkers but let’s not go there. But with a married guy, there’s a lot less chance of the separation being crazy. After all, if the guy already has marital obligations, he doesn’t wish to complicate things with a messy break up.
Last but not least is the most complex scenario. That’s when the woman seeks out the married man and then wants him for her very own. Her expectation is that she is better for the guy than his wife. He should divorce his present wife and then make the single woman his new bride. The woman seeking the married man is determined to blind herself on the most important issue being presented. The “great catch” has already proven that he can’t be trusted around single woman and he will lie and be deceptive while he is married. Sadly, the single woman believes that she is special and the same situation could neeeever happen to her. Most times, history repeats itself because leopards cannot change their spots. The man will cheat again and the cycle goes on.
Whether the reason the single woman continues to walk in the direction of the married man, is a need for completion or one of passion, the result is usually the same. There might not be a broken heart but there is always a trail of lies. Making a promise means being true to your word. Even if the single woman doesn’t understand this (which I doubt), the married guy who took the pledge certainly does. Remember this, next time you glance across that crowded room and think you’ve found that special someone.
